Help for Newbie :)

Post by naughtinnice »

I say I'm a newbie but not completely.....just about ports and routers and things of that nature :) Ok my problem is this.....there are 2 computers in my home...we are on a wireless connection. We have a linksys router and a sprint 660 series modem. I want to be able to configure my ports for programs such as bitcomet and to host my own server through dynamic dns and lopster. I can not get my modem and router configured to open the ports to allow me to connect to other people. I have been through every forum and website I can find to try to solve this problem...have even called my isp for help and obtained a static ip address...still no go. If anyone would have any advice on how to open ports I would appreciate it. Please dont assume I know anything because chances are on this subject I wont. Any and all solutions and advice welcome. Thanks, Paula
