Dsl help

Hey and thanks for any advice you may can give. I currently have bellsouth dsl and have been having disconnect problems for several months lately. First what
it does, Ill be on the internet and then it disconnects. Ill look at the modem, which is the westell one, and the internet light is out and the dsl light will be blinking slow. On the screen the software that is in the modem pops up and either says its been disconnected and or starts to reconnect but cant since the modem lost the connection. This happens for about 20-25 seconds, then the dsl light blinks faster till it goes solid and then the internet light comes back on. After this my internet i comes back on line. Ive gone days without any disconnects and then other days where I get disconnected every 2-3 min. Now ive been in contact with bellsouth, first thing they did was to replace the old modem, no luck. They then thought that the dsl line they had ran down my road was branched out too much without enough people on it, so they capped the line or something like that, no luck. They also ran a new cable from the front of the yard where the telephone pole sits to the house, which is still lying in the yard. No luck with the disconnects, it did though take my speed from about 1.5 mb up to 2.8 mb. The last thing bellsouth has told me was that they were going to come out and watch my connection to see it disconnect, kinda makes me feel like they dont believe me. they re sayin that they dont see anything wrong. One question I have, can other eletronic devices cause the modem to loose the connection? Ive got a second computer, a 13 in tv, and a sat. receiver all within 2 feet of the modem. If soo how far should i move the modem from the eletronic devices?
Also can a 2.4 ghz phone cause problems? Ive got a friend that had problems with his, got rid of the phone and the disconnects went away. Some other useful info, ive got 3 computers runnin of this connection all on a wired router. Well thanks again for any insight you might can give.

if the phone can be moved .... move it to see what happens..

the company wants to see it disconnect not because they dont believe you but they have exhausted all the solid problems it could be and what to see what else it might be...

other than that i really have no other input sorry.. let the guys from tech deal with it

also have you run all anti virus and spyware sweeps???

If it were me, I would want to put another modem in place to see if it misbehaves, as well.
Regarding the portable phone, I believe it could affect another wireless device, but would be surprised if it affected a wired modem. Do you have it plugged into a UPS? Maybe it took too many surges or spikes...

This might help as well as stupid as may sound http://dslnuts.com/pppoe/Stalls.htm

Also to you make sure your modem isn't around cordless phones halogen lights away from applineces. Make sure all the filters on the phone line are secured in place.
