Need Instruction

Post by stu2 »

A) First and foremost why would I need a HIGH SPEED HOST CONTROLLER INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER for my USB ports, I download a bunch of pictures from the card that I use in my camera in like 15 seconds.

B) Later I want to connect my computer up to a DLP 60" tv.when I get one
what will I need.

C) Also I know this don't belong here but I'll give it a try: I used Easy CD Creator to burn all my cd's and now that I got a new computer and a DVD burner I'm lost when it comes to burning DVD any thoughts.

Any info will be great

It depends on the type of TV plan to buy, and the output connection of your computer.

If both are digital, then look at your manuels for both PC & TV to see what cable accessories are open to you. You can always ask at the store where you purchaced the TV from. They will know, and most likely try and sell you one.

Are you subscribing to HDTV, Dish, or plan old analog cable?

Some things to google
Data cables for NTSC TVs (if in the US)

Also if you have not purchased the DLP TV. Ask about the Blue colors on them. I've heard this years release of DLP is a better buy then last year and years previous. They've had lots of them returned (where I live) for blue not working.

Jess... I've been wanting at least 4 feet of TV in my house... I've been collecting wide screen DVDs for a few years now :)

Alright here it goes:
A.) Don't worry about the high speed controller for you usb camera, you don't need it

B.) The trick of hooking this up to yout TV is to get the simplest connections possible. Depending on what video card you have you may have digital video(white plug) on your video card. If you do, good, I would then try to find a TV with the same connection which is not difficult and all you'll need is a digital video cable. If the TV doesn't have that connection you can get a digital video to HDMI cable, which are a little expensive in my opinion, but that will work for you as well.

C.)In regards to burning DVD's I would scratch Easy CD Creator all together and Nero Burning Rom, it's a much better proggy for burning all types of DVD's.

I hope this helps.
