Why does my switch reset?

Post by chugger93 »

Im having some troubles lately with my connection. I have a cable connection, that goes into a win2003 box, (which acts as my router/gateway, dhcp server, etc) After that it heads off to my upstairs room, into a linksys 5 port switch. I have two computers that feed off that.

Every 3-5 minutes or so, my icon in the system trays says this... chugger.homeip.net/test/unplugged.gif

Im wondering whats going on here. I just freshly formatted my pc too. Could my switch be going bad somehow? I've tried plugging it into various other ports on the linksys switch and it still does it. I've tried swapping cables, no go.

Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like either the switch or the cable. If you've tried other ports on the switch, I'd run a diff cable to see if that's possibly the issue.
Simply run adaware, spybot, ZoneAlarm, HijackThis, AVG, update windows daily, have a router, don't open e-mail, turn off action scripting, don't use P2P networks, don't violate EULAs, and wear a condom to get Windows secured.

People say Linux is alot of work!
