starband tuning ?

Post by RAAF453_Shep »

I guy in my flight squadron, has moved out ( waaay out ) of town , and he now uses Starband for his ISP.
It's a satillite connection, and according to them isnt good for gaming. His lats are in the 1700 range.. horrible to say the least... mine average 50-70 to most I game with ( but I use all the tricks I found thanks to this Wonderful Site ) and get incredible results from them.
Has anyone ever tried to tune a sattilite setup ?
its supposed to be rated @ 500k each way
Their techs say the dish adjustment is all he can do , and best @ optimal wil be in the 600-800 ms lats range.
I asked him on several occaisions to get me the .pdf's for the system , from their site, but he hasnt come across with them as of this post, so I have no idea what he's facing, but I intend to help.

thanks in advance.
nothing like my Virtual Spitfire Mk IXc and a few wingmen to cover my 6 !

Sat and gaming !?? :rotfl:
Chess or Checkers is about it. It's NOT about Bandwidth, it's about latency... and SAT does NOT cut it in any way, shape, or form., Period.. Sorry.
