Greatest FPS weapons in your opinion

Lets make it interesting and add categories. Favorite Point blank, mid range, and long range weapons.

Point Blank...Flack Cannon from UT
Mid Range...Hyperblaster from Quake 2
Long Range...Sniper Rifle from MOHAA

Point blank: Redneck Rampage crow bar
Mid range: UT plasma rifle
Long Range: DC .50 Cal
Mass destruction weapon: Doom 2's BFG

I dunno if I can narrow it down to one in each category...
However those that stand out in my opinion....
*Super Shotty in Quake 3
*Flak Cannon in Unreal Tournament
*Plasma Shock Rifle double tap in Unreal Tournament
*Mini Gun in Unreal Tournament (my fave in that game)
*Rail Gun in Quake 2 and Quake 3 (one of my all time faves, close, medium, long range..didn't matter)
*Crossbow in Half Life

Rail gun in q2 is the best for any occasion.....

The UT shock rifle was always fun for medium range accounters.

For a...less-conventional list...

Long Range - Farsight (Perfect Dark):

A rail gun sniper rifle with the ability to see through walls (much like the movie Eraser or the game Red Faction).

Mid-range - Land Shark (Armed & Dangerous):

Self-explanatory, I think.

Point blank - Lightsaber (Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight II, etc.)

For the inner "Star Wars Kid" in all of us.
