A simple problem

One that i've never really figured out how to fix. Every once and a while I come across this error message when trying to access another workstation on a network:

"\\ComputerName is unaccessable. You do not have permissions to access this network resource. Contact the adminstrator of this server to find out if you have correct permissions. Access is denied."

On the computer (also running XP), i've ran the network setup wizard, shared the C:\ drive properly, they are both on MSHOME ... i cant think of anything else that might be causing this. Does anyone know why this error message occurs ? Is there some basic step i'm missing here ?

Account permissions? The same account name should be on both machines (passwords can be different). That account should also have access to the share.

Old post, but i'm having the same problem. I cant get my computer to access another computers personal folders. I have all the same login names on there, but it wont access any of them. I also have admin on both machines. any help?

In other words, anything past c:\documents and settings\username cant be accessed over the network

But can you get access to another share..say, if you make a folder in the root such as C:\Stuff..and share it out, can you get to it?

As I know in XP pro, there are 2 types of file sharing:

Simple file sharing(without password)

Share file with user/group permissions

Don't forget to enable file/printer sharing on network card's TCP/IP setting also...
