can't connect to certain games

Post by LoneSoviet »

Hey guys, I am having a huge issue with some of my online games, I can not connect to games like battlefield 1942, battlefield vietnam, battlefield 2 demo, and halo pc. However I have been able to connect to call of duty, world of warcraft, soldier of fortune 2, and tribes 2. When I refresh the list on a certain game, all of the servers will either show up as 999 or not as pinged, and when I try to connect to a 999 server it will just say "Disconnected from server". I am using DSL from SBC and have played all of these games before. plz help me.

it will detect like every server, but the ping is always 999 or nothing at all, so maybe something is restricting it?

If you're not behind any router/firewall, as in..you're plugged directly into the modem with a public IP address, I'd immediately suspect problems with your computer being infested. I'd start by scrubbing your system with a good updated antivirus program, as well as several anti-malware utilities like the latest Spybot Search and Destroy (currently version 1.4), Lavasofts Adaware, Microsoft Antispyware, (all free BTW), also a 30 day free trial of SpySweeper.

Correction my original post, I am behind a router and it has a built in firewall, but I have all of the ports configued to where it should run properly.
