15,000 mile Mobile or Quakerstate oils
So these are full synthetics? and are really good for that long?
The trouble w/ synthetic oild is that they are NOT for use an every car or truck. Check the real specs of the vehicle before using 'em.
Synthetic oils are made for vehicles w/ engine seals and gaskets that will handle them, else the synthetics will leak right out because the molecules are so much smaller than regular oil. You won't empty the pan of oil, but little by little it can slowly leak a few oz here & there.
I never use synthetics in my truck. It's a 90 E-350 w/ 215,000 miles and runs like a charm. I have used Prolong treatments and changed my oil every 5k since I got it new in 1990. Not a ping, not a tap, no clickity-clicks.
Synthetics do best in newer hot running engines but if your car is pre 2000 don't chance using them.
