Yeah definitely do NOT need to be talking about this here, but since you brought it up, for whatever its worth I worked within the @home system (cannot be specific, sorry
) last year and I can assure you that docsis or not, it CAN be done. You are on your own and I agree that if you get caught I feel sorry for ya as well.
tweak101;
I did not see anything in your post that mentioned uncapping, don't know why everyone started bringing up the uncapping thing. What you asked for was a "hack" which I think everyone equates with uncapping, forgetting that it also refers to the editing of the registry beyond the default settings which are also refered to as "hacks", which are intended to modify or change the behavoir of parts of the OS, which are discussed here most frequently. What I think you were asking for is registry tweaks to speed things up some,,,right? If so just go to the tweaking section of this site and get the one that best suits the OS you have installed.

I have to agree with Mystic myself, a hack does not necessarily mean uncapping. Seeing "hack" used in this manner can be just as simple as a registry edit or edit in a configuration file that would be compatible with his particular modem. Now myself you will never see me use hack in that way. Myself on this board when I see the word "hack" on this board I know it tends just to mean a tweak for the computer. So as long as he means no uncapping the modem or hacking then quit bashing him! (And I did not see the word uncap or any wanting in commiting a wrongful activity, he just wants to try to push his connection a bit furthur).
so to tweak101 you can try the Speedguide patches, www.cablenut.com, and www.dslreports.com
All three deal with cable and dsl tweaking. Also DSLReports is a good place to research your ISP

hahhaah....Thanks to those who understand
Yep, what I mean hack is NOT uncapping, I know for sure that it's not possible as an end-user. I even have the uncapping program too, but anyway, what I'm asking there is that is there anyway to get access to the http://192.168.1xx.x pages of the modem. You know how some Motorola or other modem they have default pages where you can configure or tweak your cable stuff. Anyway, but thanks for ALL the *REPLIES*.
Dang, next time I need to be clear on the word "HACK"...ahahhah
