You can do "a lot" with a First Gen Pentium @ 100 Mhz....
Don't need to throw it away or "bash" it all to hell like most users have posted...
I have a 386 laptop that I use for
Internet Relay Chat (Win 3.11 mIRC - 16 bit)
and the Internet... in "DOS"
Some Idea's for your box
First off, if you want it faster, there were some "AT" form factor Athlon
motherboards that were made... you might find some around...
With just the P-100.. some idea's
Linux is a good idea. Look for older versions of Mandrake.. maybe slackware.
Windows 3.1 thru Windows 98SE or Windows NT
if you want to stay with Windows.
It might make a good DosBox or for older Windows games. ( Any kids in the family likes this... happy vintage games )
Network Printer Server
Honey Pot
Team Speak Client
Remote Desktop and or VNC Client
Wireless MP3 Box (hook it up to your stereo)
File Server
Web Server
Packet Sniffer "outside" your NAT Router..
Folding should work, I'm using a old destop computer with a Cyrix CPU in it, almost the same power as your Pentium 100.
Basically anything that you can run on it, to free up your other "main" rigs.
Save it from going into the landfill...
Have fun,
Shinobi
