my dsl speeds are really slow and i cant figure out why. ive taken tests online at http://www.testmy.net and dsl reports. the tests from http://www.testmy.net says my speeds are only 3 times faster than 56k and what made me confused was the test from http://www.dslreports.com which said that following.

2004-12-26 15:31:13 EST: 20 / 304
Your download speed : 21124 bps, or 20 kbps.
A 2.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?
Your upload speed : 311453 bps, or 304 kbps.

any solutions?

ive tried some of the tweaks on the forums but none of them make a difference.

hmm were you downloading something while testing that you know of? No virus or spyware activity going on? Also have you called to make sure its not a problem on the ISP's end? Plus you may have a phone line issue or something of that nature.

Go to here http://www.broadbandreports.com/ and click on "forums" on the left side. Scroll down to Telco Support and pick which region you are in. Mods from SBC are at work posting solutions to problems such as this all the time...and sometimes I even agree! Make SURE that your read the top threads FIRST and do EVERYTHING that is SUGGESTED or you will most definitely be asked to read the directions again before you post. Good luck.
