i have a public computer with xp home after the office hours 10pm i would like to disable internet access or even logon access is there any way to do that in xp automaticly
basicly i would like it to prevent internet access between 10-6am or if possible i have a public account is it possible to disable the logon from 10-6am automaticly
lockout policy on xp
Anything is possible Albert.
Exactly what is it you want to do?
You want to leave the PC running at the logon screen after 10pm, but disallow anyone from using it?
Or do you want to allow only a certain account to be able to logon?
Not sure what you want to tell you the truth.
Why not just have the PC shutdown at 10pm automatically, and password the bios.

Of course if you can't shutdown and turn on a BIOS password... I think you might be SOL. 'Course I wonder if you could script a program that would disable users completely after 10 PM and leave only a very restricted Guest open for use...

You can use the "net user" command to restrict logons, for example
net user <username> /time:S-F,08:00-18:00
This is per user account. You may want to create this as a batch file and set it in group policy startup scripts other wise all they would need to do is reboot the system and then be able to logon.
Hope this helps
