I read that there is a price war going on with these places... among the 3 Netflix/Blockbuster and even Walmart is going to get into the mix. I wonder if they are going to give amnesty to those(me) that didn't pay the late fees in the past and found other outlets.

I expect prices for rentals to plummet.

Prices have already dropped where I'm at for B&M rentals. Used to be $4.00 for rental for just one day, now it's down to $1.99 for a week even for new releases. That and walmart has upped the prices on the new DVD's it sells. Makes too much sense just to rent now. Family video moved into to town and caused others to drop prices.

I do the $14.99/mo unlimited rentals at Blockbuster. At that price I can rent 2 at time, bring them back the same day and rent 2 more and so on and so on, or I can keep them as long as i want.

It's a good deal.

LOL, here at work, one of our tech teams has a whole production line. They use Netflix; 1 guy burns, the other guy prints out the album cover and the other guy prints the DVD cover and slaps it on the dvd itself. They do about 10 per day. All of the users bring in DVD's that they want copied. Pretty proficient operation they run here! The MPA would have a friggin field day in here though! :D

I was a blockbuster guy until they said you had to have the movie back by noon. So I started to go to Hollywood. Haven't heard of the net one. I'll have to check it out

This would be a lifesvaer for me....I really thought when they all went to 5 day rentals I'd be ok, but evidently, I have a chemical imbalance that blocks out rental return dates from my memory! :rotfl:

Awesome.

I haven't rented a movie from anyone since 1996. This gives me no incentive to, either!

By the time moves hit cinemas here, they're out on DVD in the US. By the time they get to rental... I've usually seen it.
