I baught the audigy 2 platinum sound card from a friend and he doesnt have the cable that connects from the sound card to the external device that fits in the cdrom bays. It looks like an ide cable but i dont know what its called or where to get it???

If you are referring to a CD ROM drive, the Audigy or any later version don't support it. If it is the device that allows you to connect external devices (like the IEEE 1394 or headphones), the cord came with the card. It is a proprietary cord.
