I was messing around with my cablenut settings. I am running Windows XP SP2, but the original settings that Mnosteele52 and Mccoffee gave me a high rwin at 512000. It's not their fault so I'm not going to blame them, though. I read when you upgrade to SP2, the upgraded TCP/IP stack or AFD reads your TcpWindowSize wrong, and has it set at DefaultReceiveWindow instead of TcpWindowSize. So that's why it's high or something closer to that. So I decide to play around with Cablenut and I am getting very fast speeds and webpage loads. Try these settings and see if they work for you guys, if they don't work very well for you, open up Cablenut and click on "Delete Cablenut Tweaks", Exit, and reboot your machine to go back to the original Windows defaults. These settings won't work on everybody's machine so it's an "try it and see if it works for your computer and connection" game. If it works, please reply to this thread or send me a PM. If it doesn't, no skin off my nose because not all settings works for everyone's computers, connection and ping times. Ping times you can't tweak since it's routing, ISP's backbone providers, ISP's equipment and the time of day you're online. You need to download Cablenut from here if you don't have it.

Here's a speed test taken on an 4Mbps down and 512Kbps up Cox cable modem connection:

Your download speed : 4650156 bps, or 4541 kbps.
A 567.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 521784 bps, or 509 kbps.

Now go here and try the Host Resolution Priority Tweak for any version of Windows. This tweaks does have little effect on your ping times, download and upload speeds but it does make webpages load very fast. So this tweak is worth to give a try. Do make sure that your registry is backed up before putting in the numbers, in case the Host Resolution Tweak doesn't work out very good for you.
