Post by Sgt_Strider »

Hi, lately I ave been having issues with sending messages to my friends throught MSN and some messages are lost in the process. Why is this happening? Could it be my router? I'm using a Linksys BEFSX41. Thx

I can't seem to locate the forums that provide me the information needed to solve my problem. Can you guide me there?

Check your firmware. If youre running version 1.50.18, then downgrade to 1.45.3. The 1.50.xx versions arent worth a sh*t. Get the 1.45.3 version from here...

ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/

After you flash, enable Universal Plug N Play (UPnP) on the PC AND the router. Update your OS. Update MSN/Windows Messenger. Then test and see if the problem is corrected.

You have latest version of MSN? And UPnP enabled on the router?

Yes I have the latest version of MSN Messenger. Ever since I flash the firmware back to 1.45.3, everything seems alright and stable now. However, just in case this happens again, where is the option to enable UPnP in the router? Thx

would you happen to have any suggestions on how to downgrade from Firmware Version: 1.52.4_beta1 back to the original 1.45.3? I have been through a lot and linksys isn't really the best place for help. I have tried everything that I know of and nothing has worked. I even got a new BEFSX41 and it totally sucks the firmware is really bad. The only one that really worked the best was 1.45.3 if you have any suggestions could you please let me know. thanks a lot

1.45.7 seems to be the preferred most stable firmware

Instrux for flashing firmware, reset router to factory defaults first, let it reboot, then flash with 1.45.7

Enable UPnP features on router, should work just fine with latest MSN Mess.

1.45.7 firmware

People are saying some good things about 1.53 firmware too.
