cat drivers vs the xp drivers

what differnce in performence is there between the ati cat drivers and the xp drivers for the cards.

Don't trust M$ to do ATI's job. :nope:
Use drivers from the vendor. Now you can get technical here I suppose. Omega makes great drivers built on current ATI or Nvidia ones. It's their driver with his tweaks preloaded. DNA's are the same way.
Driver remixes like you see for the nForce chip sets are the best features of the manufacturers driver packages compiled together. Sometiimes leaked drivers or components of them are included in both type of driver sets.
In short grab Omegas (which I'm currently using) or official cats form ATI. :thumb:

Never use Microsoft's standard drivers for anything.

And never use the drivers that come on the CD with the card, either.

Best thing is to download all needed drivers (chipset, DirectX, video, audio, LAN) before an install and go from there
