Problem with MSI KT6V-LSR and XP2600+
Hi there, I recently acquired an MSI KT6V-LSR with an Athlon XP 2600+ CPU. Upon booting up, the default cpu frequency was set to 100Mhz and the CPU was running at 1180Mhz. I adjusted it to 166Mhz and the display shows XP2600+ @ 1.93Ghz when it should be 2.133Ghz? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
My system specs are as follows:
MSI KT6V-LSR
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
512mb DDR400 Corsair CL2.5
Western Digital 80GB 7200rpm
GeXcube Radeon 9600XT

does that cpu have an unlocked multiplier ? if so maybe it is not set right.
run something called wcpuid to see what it is really running at

i would think that you could overclock that combination fairly well ? i don't know the mobo but the memory will do good for ya.
also here is a good forum for MSI try reading through it or searching to see how well it overclocks.
