It wont work! They ommitted one major factor in the equation. Thought is NOT physical and does not occur on a physical level. Thought has nothing at all to do w/ the brain except the brain is the midpoint between thought & the rest of the body. The brain is a nerve control center, that's all.
This has already been mathematically proven 50 yrs ago! If every single molecular particle could represent 1 thought a person has had there would not be enough particles in a brain to do that.
It has already been demonstrated and proven that the mind contains thoughts & images. If the brain was the mind then every single perception ever received by a mind would be somehow represented as stored data in it. And if each single perception was stored in a single molecular particle then a mind would run out of storage capacity shortly after birth.
The mind records at a rate of approx 25 frames/second. Each frame contains minimumly 52 different perceptics in 3 dimensions. A basic law of physics is that no 2 objects can occupy the same space at the same time, therefore these perceptics must be stored in their own space and time. There is not enough physical space or matter in a brain to do that.
Potentially, a mind has infinite storage capacity for data. More than all of the single hards drives in the whole world combined! No computer ever built can compute faster or as accurate as the mind that built it.
What does have credence in that story linked from above is the idea of bypassing a block in nerve channels in the body. That could prove to be useful and beneficial technology. At least in the form of allowing physically disabled people due to injury and operations the chance to utilize once thought "dead" body parts. It may someday have merit and value in reconstructive type surgery where an individual has has severe nerve damage or destruction.

No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
