I have a compaq Presario 5360 PC when rebooting it takes good 15 seconds displaying the Compaq Logo on the screen is there any way I can get rid of that logo and get directly into the windows screen so I can save my self some time rebooting ?>

When exactly is the logo displayed? During hardware initialization (bios), or during Windows' boot time? If so, which Windows version do you have?

well yes compaq does that ,the splash screen just hides all the boot crap, when you see the splash screen next time push the "esc" button and you will see what it's doing.

Go to Microsoft's site, search for & download Tweak UI, After installation,it is part of your Control Panel,go to the start-up tab you can kill it from there.

I don't think you can get rid of the splash screen, it may be programed into the BIOS. I ran across that with my mom's E-machine. Even after a format and clean install of Win98SE it was still there.

In the bios look for boot diagnostic screen or something similar and enable it.

It's in there in the bios setup somewhere. I used to have a Compaq laptop and all I can remember it is worded something that dosen't seem to make sense. But once you find it it will disappear. Sorry I don't have specifics but it can definately be done.

Youn can disable the floppy from being detected during bootup and use C as your bootup drive. This can be done in the bios. Plus go to your c drive in windows click on it and Then click on veiw on the menu when it opens up. Find Mdos.sys file and click on it properties and uncheck read only. Then open it with notepad. Then edit it in the seconed pargraph add bootdelay= 0. These little tweaks will speed up your boot time. Just remember if you ever have to reinstall your os to revert the Bios settings back. GoodLuck!
