The best one is yourself

its easier to prevent than fix

before you install or change any major programs or settings make a backup of the registry and most important don't install program after program make sure that it does what you want first

and if it is a big concern buy one its worth the price

Registry first aid

Registry First Aid scans the Windows registry for orphan file/folder references, finds these files or folders on your drives that may have been moved from their initial locations, and then corrects your registry entries to match the located files or folders. In addition, if your registry has links to files of deleted applications, Registry First Aid will find these invalid entries and remove them from your registry. With Registry First Aid, your Windows registry will be always clean and correct, helping your programs load faster and speeding up your computer.

Tuneup utilities has a great reg cleaner but even better it has the best reg editor around because it keeps track of what you did and makes backups of all changes you make. This one is the best deal really because it has everything you'd need

Allows you to customize your system to your needs:
Effects, security, input options and the memory management
Change each Windows icon or all icons using icon packages
Removes unnecessary files from your hard disk
Cleans your registry easily and safely
Optimizes the performance of your PC
Accelerates your internet connection
Provides extensive information about your hardware and software
Recovers deleted files and protects your privacy
Automatically corrects problems

--MORE DETAILS --

I have both installed and and uninstalled nortons utilities for good PM me if you have any questions about them

They both have trials BTW
Better to have bad luck than no luck at all
So why did I need to install xp again :D
