Ok...Philip won, but he gracefully declined the prize. I thought of going with the second-best guess, but instead I think starting afresh is better. Besides, I think I was a little vague in terms of what the extent of the system was, so I'm re-doing the contest today.

The Contest

The only thing you have to do is guess the amount of the TELEVISION he has selected for his new home theater system. The person who guesses closest to the actual amount the TV costs wins. Simple and easy, ain't it? One clue: the TV's price is more than $2,500.

You only get ONE GUESS. Also, please refrain from off-topic replies in this thread...it's easier on the eyes when I go through the guesses.

The Prize

The winner receives ALL THREE of these as one package.

(2) 36 GB Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM Serial-ATA hard disks
(2) Serial-ATA cables with 90-degree connectors
(1) Windows XP Professional (Academic Upgrade version, please PM me for details)

These items will be purchased brand-new by me and sent to the winner of the contest. Due to a slight glitch I experienced today after I'd already announced the contest, the prize will not go out to the winner until next week; however, I will add an additional "mystery item" to the prize package to make up for it.

The contest runs from now until 7:00 PM CST tonight.
