I'm thinking about buying it. Thanks for your feedback.

I say use the money to build your own. I'm not a fan of pre-built rigs. That way you get exactly what you want.

If you dont wanna build your own (which we would help you do) then it looks like a kick ass system...much better than any POS dell, or other OEM.

system looks good but build it yourself = better

Welcome visitors of Googlegear.com!

Effective immediately, we will no longer be known as Googlegear. Don't worry; we're still the exact same company that you've dealt with in the past, just with an updated identity.

Click here to read more about our name change or click here to start shopping ZipZoomFly.com!

Again, we're still the same CNET and Dealtime-certified store, the same ResellerRatings Elite and Bizrate Gold store. All that's changed is our name and our web address.

seems unbalanced.

not enough in the HD area for example. too much in the sound compared to what you're seeing for video.

regardless of all that, it also seems overpriced. that's coming for a build it yourself perspective and i havent taken the time to really pricematch it.

Component wise looks OK, who knows what the modem is, I'd either have them remove the modem, or if you needed dial up, I'd insist on a 3COM modem, as this one might be some 19 dollar no name modem that disconnects if a pidgeon sitting on the phone lines does so much as farts.

But the key to buying a pre-built, is support. I've never heard of "ZipZoomFly". What's their warranty, and even if it looks good on paper...do they actually stand up to it?

There's nothing wrong with buying a prebuilt. Some people just don't want the headaches of building their own, and supporting their own. Nothing wrong with that.

Geez...now the place sounds like some run-of-the-mill online store.

Thanks for your feedback. I built my current system a few years ago so I have some experience doing so. My concern is that I have been a little out of the loop on some of the new brands and performance on certain items (vid card, mobo, sound card). I'll try and price out a system part by part and see what I come up with. Time has been a little tight so this was an easy option (to buy a pre-built), but perhaps it is not the best option. I want a P4, a change from AMD which is what I have been using.
