Got this in my pilot email...
To All Faculty, Staff and Students,
A flood watch continues through 5:00 pm Saturday for all of east Central
Florida. The watch includes Brevard, Lake, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee,
Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Saint Lucie, and Volusia counties.
Tropical storm Henri over the eastern Gulf of Mexico is forecast to move slowly
northeast toward Florida. The storm will move onshore the west coast north of
Tampa early tonight and then move off the northeast Florida coast on Saturday.
Ahead of the system deep tropical moisture will continue over east central
Florida. Widespread storms are expected to develop this afternoon aided by
instability from daytime heating. More of a steady rain is expected much of
tonight as Henri crosses the Florida peninsula just north of Lake and Volusia
counties.
Based on the latest forecast track and intensity of the storm, the rainfall
forecast for east central Florida shows widespread rainfall totals of one to
two inches through Saturday. However, locally higher amounts will occur
especially from Osceola country north across the Orlando metro area, Leesburg,
Sanford, and Daytona Beach. Within this area some locations will receive three
to five inches with the possibility of up to eight inches.
