Now just to add a little pizzaz to the cell were going to apply a sponging effect to the bars. This will lighten up the cell and set off the comode nicely.

Next week on Marthas cell we will be adding window treatments to the bars for just a touch of whimsy and our resident man about the cell, Burk will be bringing around a cart of books to accent the room, errr cell :)

Actually I find it ironic that so much is made about this whole thing while Kenny boy is still out golfing......along with most of his group. Add WorldCom into the mix as well....

Enron affected the pocketbooks of everyone who lives on the west coast. (Callifornia, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Montana and parts of New Mexico and Utah) Yet....little action seems to be taking place on that fisaco..
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

 There are bigger fish to fry. Not that they should not charge her, just in the fact that especially right now there are cases with way more impact on share holders and the general public.

I'm sure Bush is on the phone now with Ashcroft ripping him a new A-Hole, someone didn't get the memo on this one. With everything going on these days the Fed's have bigger things to worry about then Martha. This is a lose/lose situation for Republicans with '04 right around the corner.

But i am looking forward to my tax cut starting on my July paychecks and the $400 for my child to arrive in the mail ;) I'd say that's better than Clinton's minimum wage increase. Hell he could have raised it 10 times and it wouldn't have put any extra cash in my wallet.

Not that a bit of extra cash in our pockets isn't nice, but supply side economics dosn't work....it's feeding the horse high quality oats and whatever comes out the backend...is for the sparrows...

Amen John, this is absolutely ridiculous. Martha is worth millions, Enron and Worldcom were worth billions. Do they really think Americans are this stupid?

Oh wait, DUMB QUESTION!!!

Nothing works. No one is ever satisfied. I want money, you want money. Everyone gobbles up the freebies, rich and poor alike. Money will worry you. The love of it will kill you eventually.

I should mention...it's borrowed not quite in that context from Roosevelt's econmist.....John Kenneth Galbraith. :)

Actually there's gold in them thar hills when we run up the deficit. It galls me to no end to see a select few take advantage of this great country by feeding us sparrows what's comming out the end of that horse........

Somebody is making a killing on our debt.....the U. S. taxpayer pays something like 300 billion a year on interest to holders of that debt. (Probably a lot more since this is the last I've heard the payment was....)
Rich people are typically holders of that debt, and not always even from this country.. and the interest paid to them helps to keep them rich
and "in the driver's seat". It's a financial cycling, plotted by the wealthy to keep them in their exalted position. I would say it works pretty good for them........and with all the "good" exposure on the "liberal" media.......how can they go wrong? Unless the whole thing unwinds...then hang onto your pants..

Burke....I"ve never complained about paying taxes.........the good they do, far outweigh what's wasted by corruption and greed......

Off my soapbox for now....and back to the original topic of the thread....

I suppose if there is proof of Martha getting insider info...then let the stones fall where they may...John brings up a VERY valid point....imho...I do believe she's being made a scapegoat. ...The American people want to feel that the SEC and other governing bodies ARE looking out for our best interest.....
We are a very gullible nation anymore.

As if her show isn't boring enough.

My wifes going to make me watch reruns now :(
Either that or more "Trading Spaces", and "While you were out"

I figure it's like this..

Once you have a lot of money, someone/everyone is going to figure ways of getting it off you. It becomes an obsession between YOU, and THEM

Stay poor, and be happy with what you have :D

I don't see why it's such a big deal. She did what anyone else would have done. She just tried to lie her way out of it. She wasn't an insider and she didn't defraud anyone.
