From http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive ... cfc8c9c5cf

...Maximum speeds for Verizon Online's DSL Internet access service will be increased for qualifying new consumer and small business customers from 768Kbps/128Kbps to up to 1.5Mpbs/128Kbps. Because of technical limits of DSL service, some customers will not be able to access the highest speeds...

Well It sucks because people who have AOL DSL through Verizon Lines can't get the upgrade(me), sadness, I'm still with 768/128.

It took about 3 1/2 weeks to complete, but I'm now upgraded.

1.5 / 128

I had a different ISP ( needed static IP ).

It took that long to cancel service with ISP - clear line - get new modem - re-provision line - wait for activation day.............

BUT !!!! ......... they told me it would be PPPoe :(

SURPRISE !!!!! ......it remained DHCP :D
