XBoX will own in graphics, but not in games. Dreamcast will continue its reign, until 2-3 years from now, PS2 will be (unfortunately) decided the winner.
Its like Genesis vs. Supernintendo. SNES had WAY better hardware, but people (idiots) claim Genesis as the better system. (When it really wasn't)

well geez, its got like a 300mhz processor in it the damn thing better do something! LoL did you guys see the dateline nbc news article on how they thought that sadam might be using the 1500 ps2's for a 3d mapping guidance system for missiles? LOL wonder whats gonna happen when these puppies hit the market!

The proc speed in the Xbox is somewhere around 700Mhz, while the PS2 is around 300Mhz. As for omnipressive's comment on the dreamcast lasting for another 2-3 years, I see it only lasting another good one year before it starts to fade fast. The only way for Xbox to succeed and beat the PS2 is if msft can court the major japanese developers. It seems to me that they are doing that already because the Xbox is far easier than the PS2 to program for. So don't think the PS2 will dominate.
As for the SNES vs. Genesis argument. Genesis imo was the clear winner. They invigorated the console market with a good marketing plan and brought in a new market of gamers. It wasn't until the end of the 16-bit days that SNES took over; with Sega's hardware debacle of bringing out the SEGA CD and 32X, and such games as Donkey Kong and Star Fox for the SNES.
