Roadrunner Bandwidth Caps!!!!!!

Post by molm »

Roadrunner just contacted me and said I was over my cap. 15 gigs. What's up? They said if I go over next month they'd charge me $12.50 for every 5 gigs over 15. There is a cap on that charge of $62 in addition to my monthly charge of $44. What's up with this? HELP! Are other companies like this? I pay $44 and I think unlimited is unlimited! I understand bandwidth caps for speed but with quantity too? I'm in Dayton Ohio! Any other services that don’t have these policies?

I'm on RR too (NC) and I must've transferred more than that last month and haven't heard anything. RR is usually cool, weird...

RR has apparently initiated transfer caps in Western Ohio, Nebraska, and part of North Carolina. Here is a link to the explanation as posted in Nebraska:

I believe that this is coming nationwide with all suppliers. It is not reasonable to expect a supplier to lose money because users are transferring massive amounts of data.

The restriction has been in the TOS for at least 4 years. RR is starting to enforce it in a systematic manner.
