Help Needed...

Post by Ken »

Sorry guys, but I had to make the title so someone would click on it! :o :D

I know that many of you guys don't venture into the other forums, and may not be aware of a team that we have here at SpeedGuide. Apologies for being off topic, however, this is a good cause...

We are trying to help humanity by using our unused computer resources to help find a cure/prevention for some of mankinds most dreaded & deadliest diseases such as Cancer, Alzhiemers, Lou Gerigs, etc...

Stanford University sponsors this. In a quick nutshell, the scientists believe that when proteins in our bodies assemble or fold incorrectly, diseases such as Cancer are the result...

Who here has not lost a friend or loved one to these diseases?

Countless different proteins, with each protein having countless ways of assembling is what we are up against...
If we pool our unused computer powers, we may be able to make progress... :)

The cost is nothing, the benefits can be endless...

The prog runs in the background on the lowest priority. It slows itself down when you open another prog, game, etc...

Please, at least check out the program and what it does, before you make a decision. If you Fold for another team, that is OK too, as we are all trying to do the same thing, end these diseases...

We have a forum here at SG that will provide you with the info and links, as well as any help or questions that you may have...

25 years ago, on August 12, 1978, 12 days before my 16th birthday, cancer took my mother. I fold in her remembrance and with the hopes that we can prevent other kids from losing their mom... :(

Thanks for taking the time to read this and for your considerations! :)

Very well put Ken. So lets go guys. Together we can help science advance and stop these diseases where they start. All it takes is some spare change from your rigs and we can make a difference. I see no performance loss on any of the rigs I run F@H on if thats your concern. It only uses your CPUs unused clock cycles.
Look at it this way... We spend alot of time and money honeing these machines to be the best they can. Why not let this effort give something back to humanity as well. :D ;)

Psst...Hey Ken. Change the title to something like the ultimate tweak. That'll get some attention. ;)
