so, tell me. is Counter Strike still soaking with cheaters?

haven't played for some time. maybe 5 months ago was the last time. played for about 2.5 years, but got burned out on it due to the gross amount of cheats.

was thinking about installing one of my other/older games (i can only take so much BF1942 before i have to take a break), and i did/do really like CS.

is it still basically a "war of the cheats" on most big public servers?

Edit: I would like to change my answer to yes. I don't know how they get past the stuff but some people cheat with just wallhack and nothing else. I was just on a server and would sometimes run around a corner only to be shot up before I even saw the person. I would also get shot around the corner even though I can't see the guy at all and after I die I would see where he was and he was around the corner not even able to see me unless he saw my shield or something.

I also looked at the other players through first person and they would wait and crouch at a spot. I would wonder, "Why?" and then I see a CT come flying past that spot and getting killed. So I would have to change my answer to yes but it's only wallhack. Well that's for me anyway, I haven't seen someone with a aimbot or any aim cheat, just wallhacking.

i dont think there are alot of cheaters nowadays

counter-strike is sooooo overplayed and a lot of people are really good players. so i think most of it is skill.

but of course there are cheaters out there

I'll agree with both.

There are still lots-o-cheaters because you can tell when you watch them in 1st person spectate.

However, I know several people who are just wicked awesome and it is hard to tell between cheating an not.

I don't play anymore because with both types of people, I don't stand a chance. LOL

I've said this plenty of times in this forum, just get well known in a server where there are always admins. Or become an admin yourself, doesn't matter if people cheat after that, just ban their worthless POS newb arses!!!

The amount of skill has risen in CS although if you watch the people you think are cheating first person then you can tell when they cheat. Normally its skill but every now and then you get someone who hacks which makes the game gay. I love CS but the cheaters are a definite turn off.

The best thing to do in CS is own a hacker and they just leave.
It's so fun to do and they get so pissed.

I just hope it doesn't happen to BF1942... thats the only online game I like that doesn't have cheaters (aside from certain flawed map exploits).. the rest of the online gaming community seems full of cheaters, or at least the type of games that I'm into.

I have seen a few cheaters on other servers, but since our clan has our own server now there really isn't any problem. We ban people more for slamming other players, or inappropriate language.

If I do think someone is cheating then I just kill myself and go first person with them. So far on our server I haven't banned anyone for cheating.

Its not that bad once u find a nice server but yes in some servers there are alot of cheaters, dont get me wrong there are alot of good servers with little to no cheaters

i dont know much about cs, but i do know one of my friend plays it everyday for like 4-5 hrs at a time minimum, he doesnt cheat but he has jus gotten so good that he gets kicked form serversw cuz they think he cheats, he jus plays too damn miuch...theres cheating, and then theres being addicted to the point where u can kill everyone..

i attribute my deaths in cs to suckage.. i just got it yesterday (ala neolev) and i completely SUCK.. my best record is like 5 kills 8 deaths in a real server..i'm crappy.

Your point? Big deal, keep playing, join a clan, find a server where there are regularly skilled people there. I'd put my clan server IP up but servers been actin up lately
