RATTLING CPU FAN!!! STOP IT PLEASE!!

i am hearing loud rattling noises coming from a cpu fan. how do i stop it, its annoying me to death!! :cry: :mad:

I am not sure if this is your problem ... but my blades were hitting ever so slightly. I tweaked them a bit and they quieted right down.

I have the V7 on my sons oc'ed xp1700 and it runs 30 to 37 C.and it's real quiet.
I woke up this morning, had them Statesboro Blues.
I looked over in the corner, and Grandpa seemed to have them too.

anyways try to tighthen the screws..

if that don't work a new fan will fix you right up

Is the fan clogged with dust? It may be struggling to work properly if it is.

You could always peel back the sticker in the middle and put a dab of lubricant on there and see if that cures it as well.

dont know about rattling noises but a grinding type noise means you've got a busted bearing in the fan. I've got a comp I'm working on right now with one of those. Ahh wouldnt it be great if we could just have passive cooling

get a VIA C3 Proccessor it would prolly do good with passive cooling :p

sorry bout the slow reply to u guys.

approximently in 15hours australian time, i will get my new parts my duron 1.3 and my new board. so i will take my fan off my socket converter card and clean it and stuff tighten the screws if there loose.

i have only had the fan for about a month and the store doesnt return after 7days. so ill see tomrorrow

maybe the store won't,but you should be able to rma it directly to the manufacturer,unless it's too expensive for shipping considering where you live?
