This is the msg i receveid from my ftp client ...

450 Data connection closed, file transfert "name of file" aborted.

A guy from my ISP send me the TCPoptimizer tool.. and i say me to change the MAXmtu to 1454 .. but that dont work more..

SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer
TCP properties for IP = 64.18.169.100 (dsl4-100.express.oricom.ca)
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; DigExt)
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405ac0103030201010402

MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1452
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1452, which equals MSS.
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 255552
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63888
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10222.08 kbps (1277.76 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4088.832 kbps (511.104 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

thanks.. sorry if you dont understand all i said because im not an english :)

Well if your ISP is recommending the reduced MTU then you need to start there. As per your post you are at 1492 right now so you need to reduce that to the 1452.

I am not sure I totally understand your post,,, meaning did you try to drop your MTU to 1452 and couldn't? or did you drop it and it didn’t help?

Additionally you may be better off posting your request in Tweaking forum first, guys in that forum live to help people tweak their connection.

Have a good day ;)
