Xpunge, if you can't make a remark that stands by itself then don't make it. Attempting to suggest your comment was taken out of context is flawed. You stated in that post that you are a Registered Democrat. That is without dispute. Now you are trying to spin that it was taken out of context. Next time when you make a post don't make them with an incomplete thought if that is in fact your argument.

As for Jeremy he has no problem standing up for himself and he certainly isn't sucking up to me. I do appreciate his words, but Jeremy has in fact disagreed with me when he thought I was wrong. Sucking up is the furthest thing from the truth.

Come on roody, post a link to post 24 and 25, post a screen cap, come one, you must have it at the ready....agenda. :rotfl:

Bottom line, you were part of the conversation in the thread that I CLEARLY stated that I had changed to decline to state from democrat, you convienetly cut the sceen cap and posted to a singular post rather than to the entire conversation, agenda, you knew 100% that I had stated that I had changed to decline to state, yet left that out of this thread, agenda,

You are trying to say I am one thing or another in THIS thread when YOU know for a fact I've stated diferently, agenda. :rotfl:

just post a link roody, i'll let it go after you post a link to post 24 and 25. we'll call you teh winnar after that. you can do it "bobby bucher"!

This is one debate you are in over your head with.

Let's take a look at your remarks.

Here is your comment in post #20 of this thread. Notice the bolded part.
Xpunge wrote:I never claimed I am registered democract. I am registered decline to declare after leaving the California democrat party.

we've been through this already you and I, are you drunk? or just have a short memory problem?
Now let's take a look at your quote in the Obama offers a sweetheart deal thread.
Xpunge wrote:I have been a registered Democrat my entire adult life.

End of personal info dissemination.
See why you have been proven wrong? If not let me spell it out for you. You claimed in this thread that you NEVER said you were a registered Democrat, yet I clearly showed that at one point you did. You claim you changed to decline to state yet that is irrelevant because you still in fact said you were a Registered Democrat. You flip flopped and then when called on it with facts you attempted to backtrack. If nothing else show us that you are man enough to admit when you are wrong because you were most definitely wrong when saying you never stated as much.

Just post screen caps and links to post 24 and 25 of the thread you and I conversed about this on Jan. 20th and I'll walk away, not another peep.

Im not going to jump in for anyone. I would rather remain neutral. But I have a question.

If someone takes the time to register their "decline" to be recognized as any specific party member, isn't that the same as saying you are not presently calling yourself a Democrat, you are simply on their roster?

This could get complicated. If I decline to be recognized as a Democrat by the State, can I still call myself a Democrat to those who wish to pigeonhole me?

I have nothing left to prove. I already proved that your remark where you stated you NEVER were a registered Democrat was false. I did that with a quote, link and screen shot. The debate Sarahnn was whether or not Xpunge ever stated he was a registered dem. I showed that he did and despite proof to the contrary Xpunge has refused to admit as much. Feel free to start up a thread regarding party politics and how people are registered elsewhere and I assure you I will respond to it, but the last thing I want to do now is take away from what was the original debate between Xpunge and I.

In California they were slowly moving to open primaries making party affiliation moot. As a registered decline to state I can still vote for democrats and any other party nominees other than the California republican party candidates (they got their panties in a wad over this). hopefully open primaries will be the norm here soon.

I am registered decline to declare after leaving the California democrat party.
The fact that he left the Democratic party is a clear and open admission that he had been a member at one time and not that he NEVER belonged.

Sarahnn, here is the crux of it all. roody stated that... "There is no way at all you are a registered democrat." (post 17 this thread).

He already knew this to be true from the thread on 1-20-2010. I had changed to decline to state.

This whole thing is about roodys attempt to label and paint people who he doesn't like, views or style.

I know this much. A discussion is so dependent upon paying close attention to what is being said. Subtle truths can be missed by all of us with distractions. Roody, or I should believe anything you say unless we have a viable source to the contrary. You said you left the Dems, that indicates to me that you have been a Dem. You may have put your emphasis where it was needed to sound credible in any given post but there's a basic truth there and only you have it. Roody and I must accept it unless we can prove you are lying.

Frankly, if I am to believe your assertions, the onus is on you to clarify your position with the Democratic party. I accept whatever you say because Speedguide members' party affiliations is not a main concern of anyone here. It's the actual issue of the discussion that is the subject matter. :wth:

The first few years I was here as my post history will show I was a republican. In 2004 I changed to the dem party. Unfortunately for me Florida is a closed primary state so I remain affiliated with the dems although I am more of an independent.

The difference between Xpunge and I is I never once claimed to be a member of a party while attempting to pass myself off as something else.

That should answer your question Sarahnn.

The funny thing is I have practically never spoken about my own party affiliation, other than to quip how I had left the democrat party.

rood-hill has pestered and been generally fixated on who I am, and party affiliations excetera.

I remember downhill kept accusing me of listening to right-wing talking heads because I sounded just like them. But I told him then I did not and I still don't. We conservatives must sound all alike. :D Downhill was a staple here.

But I did not said anything about conservatives. Sorry, but I don't understand what you are trying to get at.

All I want to know is if xpunge is a democrat or not. I am a registered member of the GOP.

The properly applied term is echo-chamber.

I don't think we need the term "chamber" tacked on.

The cry of the conservatives reminds me of the shot heard around the world. When people feel threatened, expect a response.

Here's what I get from reading this plethora of comments.

1. Xpunge was a Democrat all his life.

2. Until he recently registered as "decline to state" status which means he is not committed to support any party at this point.

3. Therefore, whether he supports the Democrat or Republican platform or any other party platform will be determined by how he approaches the issues, and not party affiliation.

Frankly, if the Repubs don't pull their act together, "declines and independents" will become a very strong political force. It's happening now.

I'm saying that Downhill was not the first to feel certain that I sounded like the conservative talking heads on the radio/T.V. My views just reflect their ideology, so I made a tongue-in-cheek comment that we conservatives must all sound alike.

As they should, since most people dont fit into 2 groups with all their views and opinions, would be nice to see a party system that is more flexible.

Maybe in 50 years. lol
