I wasn't supporting our 1/2 day invasion of Russia. The topic is about the United States and war...so "we" means the US.

I never heard anything remotely close to 60% of the Royal Air Force was made up of other countries. Where the heck did you find something that quoted that?

Poland and other countries didn't have a chance against the Blitzkrieg tactics, Hitlers land based forces were considerable. Luckily the Brits had the English Channel.

ANd speaking of "WE" meaning who ? If you went after them you would loose all the support from other nations, how can you supply your army then ? And you think slavic nations would allow you to invade russia ? Good luck :p

Also did you forget 60% of UK airplane pilots were from czechoslovakia, polland and yugoslavia (serbs and croatians ) (not sure how they were called back then). And they will watch how you are invading their brothers on east ? :rotfl:

Germany almost won thanks to France and UK ,polland and czechoslovakia had alliance with them. They close their eyes when they invaded polland and czechoslovakia. They gave them up.If they did something it wouldnt go so far and it would save millions of lives.

I actually watched a documentary once about how the US let Pearl Harbor get attacked to get backing for the war. Usually i see these things and they are all conspiracy theory type but this one actually had some good research and whatnot. I forget what it was called but was pretty interesting...

Whatcha all think about that stuff? I personally don't like to think it happened that way, but its hard to say. :(

Heck that was on the A & E channel... Everyone pretty well knows Rosy let us get bombed. Sad, once you see how the real world works.

Russia couldnt really advance without help, i think it was brittian that did that, not us, i dont remember, but russia could hold their land alone.

They still got 350+ millions to spare

look how big was Russia before, after 1989 they are still landmass number 1 anyway ,bigger then CANADA and USA.I think Before 1989 they were bigger then CANADA and USA together

350 million minus women and children, plus the bigger the border the more there is to protect.

The real question would be what was there army's total back then.

We had a lot of Pilots in the RAF. I guess it was another way around going to war directly.

well they dont teach you much about european history in schools here. But what did i expect, you have 500 years old history .. :D
Polland and other countries could have chance if France and UK did help them ...they were their allies,it was a pact. They just gave them up thinking Hitler is gonna be satisfied.
WW2 started when german soldiers attacked their own base in polish uniforms in Gliwice.Hitler was looking for something so he could attack them.Next was Czechoslovakia,Czechs were fightning and slovakia just gave up,they became German province.Meantime all soldiers from slovak army bases moved to mountains and they were fightning there because their own gowernment betrayed them. But what do you know,we have 2 unknown Russian soldiers burried on our property when they were marching and fightning germans.Shrapnel from grenade hit them and killed them instantly. My grandparents were there and my grandma got almost killed when she was trying to help jewish girl,(she got shot anyway )only thing what helped her was that she was german (well she was born in austria) but as you know or dont know austria joined germany,it was called Auschwitz i think. So please dont you educate me,my family was fightning there and my grandma brother was pilot in UK air forces. Its even mentioned in history books how many people from different nations were in UK air forces.

when they were pushing germans back it was around 800 000 men in arms.ANd more and more were joining them.
The worst WW2 battle happend in Dukla,im not 100% sure but i think 280 000 soldiers died there in 5 days. The locals are still finding bombs and ammo and all kind of crap around there. They are saying when it started the creeks were red from blood.

Well there was quite a bit more to it than that, in several broad areas. More of a continuation from WW1, and lots of land which the Versailles treaty took away from Germany, that Hitler wanted back. Not to mention all the rules of the Veresailles treaty which he chose to ignore.

not sure but they didnt because they were fightning still for Stalingrad. They couldnt go back ,i dont know how many german soldiers went to russia but only few of them came back.Staling had agreement with Hitler,he was supplying him with gas and everything what he needed and then they will divide europe.Russian and germany.Stalin was freaked out when he heard Hitler attacked him.His spyes told him 2 or 3 days before german army is moving towards russia but he didnt believe them .
And on top of everything he killed all his generals few months back so he was completely screwed.
