That was clearly a goal. Detroit took it tonight, it was the refs and the goal review that won for Dallas. As a fan of hockey, it's things like that that truely hurts the game. It's like the revenue of another game in the series or the fact it was for the home crowd that it was no goal.

It was a goal. Hockeys the only game where the rules change as the game progresses.

but Bettman was at the rink, maybe that will change things...

:rotfl:

oh, sorry heh. Honestly, tonights was a fun game to watch at least. Much more entertaining than game 3 pit v philly IMHO.

gotta give dallas credit, they came on hard. And they had sticks in the passing lanes all night which they hadn't had yet. good showing Dallas :thumb:

pS- I agree that was a goal, but also think that we got away with the one earlier in the series that holmstrom wasn't called for. evening out of sorts I spose, but tonights sure would have had the possibility of changing things.

Philly def woke up for game 4. They were skating strong and their D was much improved. That said, the beginning of the first period had some seriously soft calls on pittsburgh. That roughing call behind the pens net was rediculious. How the ref misses the crosscheck but calls the retaliation "roughing" was beyond me. That powerplay made it 3-0.

Pens BETTER close this out in 5 at home. Going back to Philly 3-2 will not be good!

Well I hate to pat myself on the back, but as I said, Pens vs Wings for the cup. I'll be happier when all the bets with a few individuals that the Pens win the cup have cashed in. :)

I might even venture to say Dallas is gonna beat Detroit WHEN they meet, against my original and final prediction of Pens vs Wings, but not yet
waited unti the Wings were up 3-1 to make your decision did you? :D

If you have to resort to the "steal" option, i think it might be justified here! :D

The Red Wings are to experienced and to good of a team to have the Pens make this a series. I can see Pittsburgh getting 1 win, but that's about it. As I stated in another thread the Wings will win in 5.

yeah, another interference on Holmstrom. Would have been a tough one to call if you weren't standing right there I think. Holmstrom was not in the crease, fleury came out to face a shot and holmstroms stick blade ended up making contact with fleury somewhere. couldn't tell where from the overhead shots.

but, what ya going to do.

Pens need to start skating, they are sitting around in their end flat footed and its killing them. This neutral zone trap that Detriot has going on is nuts. I was hoping for a great series, this is nuts.

If the Pens dont' tie this up at home its over. :(

And some of those hits late in the game today were crap. Pens need to quit playing like goons, its better to lose clean than win dirty. They are from the west side of PA you know!!!

Left wing lock. get it right! :p

Seriously, though I saw therrien complaining about the wings obstructing all over the place. I'm not seeing obstruction, I see players catching back to their assignements and such but no clutch and grab. Your thoughts?

I guess I compare obtsruction and traps to new jersey and not the wings who I consider to have a fairly wide open offense. just that the forwards backcheck like mothers.

IT's an easy thing to break, easy on paper hard on ice. just have to have quick passes side to side. And pit needs to not be scared to use their D in the rush more.

Pittsburgh is feeding into it by not using their size and speed. They are an average of 10 lbs heavier and God knows their Offense has some speed. Theirien needs to quit with the excuses and get his team back in this series. its on the verge of being too late.

Wings are playing some impressive hockey to say the least. Pens are playing their worst hockey ive seen in months (even prior to the playoffs). They are not moving their feet at all, seem 'beaten' and almost like they don't care. Is getting to the finals enough? Ask Dan Marino how it feels to make the championship game early in a career....going to be back?!?!

Malkin has dissapeared since about game 3 of the Eastern Conf Finals. Where is he? I know he was sick but my God. Crosby is the only one who looks like he wants it.

They have had a few chances but cant' seem to bury the puck. Home ice better change it fast or its over.

If this one goes back to Detriot anything less than tied then its over for the Pens.

I agree with you about crosby. Also, surprisingly, I agree with the Vs. dudes. Why aren't they playing crosby more? It's not like it's crunch time or anything.

Pits confidence should get a boost when they're home, what's it been 2-3 months since they lost there?

Malkin, seems to excel in open ice but doesn't know how to make his own space IMHO.

Less Gil, more offense. Hal Gill should not be trying to lead your offensive rush, Sydor yes, Gill no.

They're young though, had to see what it takes. Is there something to that argument?

As for Therrien, I don't have a lot of respect right now for him, sorry.
