Can Anybody Help me Configure my Internet Connection Please!!!

Post by hector12 »

Hi to all,
My internet connection is of an average of 165 kb/s of 128 ks/s.
I want to make it faster but I don't know what type of connection I have at home. I already downloaded CableNut but it didn't work.
Please if anybody can take a little of its time to help me, I will apreciate it.
Thank you!!!

This is the information I have:

Device name: wan miniport (PPPOE)
Device Type: PPPoE
Server type: PPP
Trasnports: TCP/IP
Authentication: PAP
Compression: none
PPP multilink framing: off
My internet Provider is SBC Yahoo! DSL

SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer

TCP options string = 020405a001010402
MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1440
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 63888
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63888

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2555.52 kbps (319.44 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1022.208 kbps (127.776 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 39 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

Ok sbc provides the line. Yahoo is the software u use with sbc. Capp rate how fast you can download and upload it seems you are on 1.5 down/256k upload. Download cablenut and the cablenut addon install both. When you are done installing the update look for the folder called cablenut update then select 2k/xp dsl then look for a flie called 1500/256.css click on save to registry and reboot. :D
