Dynamic IP/Hardware Problem/?'s

Post by nissandave »

I know this is a stupid question, but I am not very networking literate at all.
Anyway, I just got a MS Wireless Base Station MN-500 as well as a network card for my laptop. I do not have a static IP and I am using the following software/hardware:

WinXP
MN-500
BellsouthDSL
Alcatel Speedtouch Home modem
Using MN-500 in PPpOE mode

Now for my problem, since I do not have a static IP, almost everytime I try to log on to the net, my pc won't connect until I click "Disconnect" and then "Connect" in the Base Station Management Tool. Is there a way to "tell" or "force" the pc and software to do the disconnect and connect process automatically upon startup or logon?
