free version
i dont think the free version has update.. control
Sure does Fred. You interested in trying it????
I have it disabled.
If I were on a 24/7 connection and the updates were available on a set frequency then I would let it autoupdate. Dialup is a bit different.
Nice to see you stack.
Open the Control Center and go to Update Manager. All the settings including an alternate update d/load link are there. The .cz link is faster, IMO.

Croc,
I'm guessing that is faster for you because Czechoslovakia
is closer to your area of the world, yes?
The Czech Republic is tucked in behind the Eastern border of Germany and I am on the N/E coast of Oz so I would have to say no. The US is closer.
I think it's the demand on the US server when an update is released. At other times the US site is ok.

Nope, let Mike try it...hehehehehehehe
My PC is not on 24/7 (although I have a 24/7 connection) and I insist on doing things manually, when it comes to updating software.
Call me paranoid ...LOL
