When to increase DDR voltage?

Post by Brk »

I'm running at 150 FSB (3.45 GHz) and my memory (Corsair PC3500) is at 187 MHz. Would increasing the voltage aid in stability, or simply cause unnecessary wear?

I've had no crashes or stability problems so far, so I'm just asking in general.

You add more voltage when you run into instability. If you're running fine, leave it ALONE! :p

That ram has alot more to give ya, but if you're ok, then I would'nt worry about it ;)

I usually don't, but I want to finish these proteins faster. I gotta make up for the 73-pointer I lost this week. :(

What board do you have? I thought the PE, if so there is/should be a setting in the bios to set the memory at a 4:5 ratio which might give you more memory performance.

Yeah I have the ratio set properly for DDR333, but I'm just paranoid about having the thing overclocked and then getting a reboot while I'm at work, thus interrupting my Folding marathon.
