Shaggy, for your insolence it will cost you double for my settings and tweaks!
Just have the cold ones ready !
Thanx deks. With a lttle patience you'll get up there too. Just remember this board doesn't like the bios adjustments all at once. You have to do one thing only, then reboot. If you do it all at once, she won't boot and you'll have to reset cmos all the time.
Not sure if that V7+ will get you close shaggy. Unless you have really great airflow thru your box, you might get a nice oc tho. Give it a shot and see how high you can get
Dunno about the 2.8 unless i go vapo or prometeia and i'm not going that route. Maybe way down the line sometime, who knows. I know Tigress won't let me have anymore toys for a while after this, LOL
i just flash to new bios 1.6 i'm done for to night tomorrow after got my RADI card it time to over clock. watch out LT i'm on my way lol (j/k) and boy this abit NF7-S v1.2 rock man...
ABIT NF7-S v2.0 AMD XP-Mobiles 2500+:p(11.5x235) OCZ 2x225(3500) fasttrak tx2000 RAID 0 ATI 9500 Softmod(9700) @400/330 used koolance to cool my vdo card antec ture 550 custom water cooler pictures
well i have some bad news from LT-73, seems as though his bios chip exploded and he is in the process of reinstalling his old mobo and reformating right now
he ain't real happy right about now, but he did make me laugh on the phone, also i think he may have formated his backup dive by mistake.
said he will be on here in a few hours so be sure to razzz him some
Well I'm back, but I'm not happy. I dunno what the hell happend. Nebulous was running perfect. Not overheating or anything. I was watching a DVD then i got this weird message similar to a BSOD, then it tried to reboot amd just hang. I hit reset, rechecked evrything over and hit F10. When it rebooted, i heard a pop my screen goes dead and i smell the all to familiar burnt circuitry odor. I checked evrything with a fine toothed comb and saw the bios chip and it's socket. The dam chip exploded and the socket that holds the chip has disintegrated. There's some kind of colorful 3d sticker on the bios chip, and it's burnt. Looks like it's all bubbled up after it burned.
My new board is dead within 48 hours This is the 3rd Abit that's died on me. I've had enough with Abit. I'm sending this pos back and get a refund or go with the Epox 8RDA+.
I put my 8K3A+ back. I managed to take off the crystal orb from the NB and attach my waterblocks. After formatting and installing most drivers, I started my clocks. With the NB watercooled, I got a nicer oc. I'll post a screenie soon.

to abits defense, they dont intend teh board to be under the stress u put on it. and it didnt just die, u did bring it to the edge

if it wasnt meant to be put under that kinda stress why the heck would they give you all those options to do that?
the bios chip shouldnt blow up because he pushed it 'to the edge' yes its running out of spec, but to say that it wasnt intended to be ran out of spec is outrageous

Originally posted by LT-73 Hey Yos, I did'nt even get to the 'edge' as you so put it. 13x200 @ 1.92vcore and 2.9vdimm is not going to the edge. Ontop of that, my temps were:
cpu- Idle 25c, full load-29c
NB-21c
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a lot more than goes into overclock thresholds than cpu and northbridge temps.
I've always loved my A-bits...then again I don't overclock them
A-Bits are supposed to run beyond spec...if your temps were fine and your cooling system working properly the only other explanation would be a power surge.
