Should I upgrade the AMD 2000+ system in my sig to 1gig of
PC-2700 RAM or not? I use the machine mainly for gaming and I don't plan on upgrading to another machine until another six months.

Depends on the games you play....I play BF1942 a lot, many of the new games like that, Unreal 2, UT2K3, RTCW...they'll easily gobble up past the 512 meg mark...and run snappier with more RAM.
Run task manager while your playing your favorite games...you'll see how much RAM they eat up.

I notice in your sigs that each has 512megs of pc2700. Is it the same kind of ram? If it is then throw it all in your main rig and see if it makes a difference.
BTW...with the way ram prices are I'd buy it while its down. My two sticks of corsair xms pc2700 cost me $82 bucks now, I bought that stuff like a year ago and its value raised which is kinda odd, but oh well.
