Fellow Buckeye-express and other users I have a kaaza question

about downloading on kaaza.
I get super slow speeds only seen on 56k modems when downloading something on kaaza. The only time when I get normal speeds is between 3:00 am and 9:00 am do you get the same? is something wrong with my computer? is buckeye-express behind this?.

KaZaA is full of spyware, uninstall it and scan with Ad Aware & SpyBot then use KaZaA Lite. The spyware will kill your connection.

I have kaaza lite and I run spybot search & destroy on a regular basis.

VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THE FOLLOWING

1. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need.

2. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.

3. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it is ISP dependent unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL (the instructions are in my Help & Tips link). If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.

4. Clear your temporary internet files.

5. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 15 seconds.

6. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot & Ad Aware 6.0 to remove any spyware then install and SpywareBlaster to stay spyware FREE.

7. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in my Help & Tips link.

Perhaps you should also, you know, look into who you're downloading off of. If you're getting a file from a 56k modem, do you think they can upload at speeds of 40k/sec? Your download on a peer2peer network depends on the upload speed of the file HOLDER, not the download speed of the file WANTER.

You can only receive a file as fast as someone can send it to you.

One thing I found in the older versions, I don't know that it applies to the new version, and that is make sure you DO NOT have "Become or Function as a supernode" checked. When I messed up and had it checked, man did it make the speeds suffer.
