MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1440
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1440, which equals MSS.
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.

I hear things about CABLENUT, what is it and why do I need it. Sorry for the stupid questions but I'm a newB to DSL.

don't be sorry the only way to learn is to ask questions
First thing first that mtu is off http://dslnuts.com/pppoe/mtustuck.htm do this then
ok ur rwin is way off it's two high donwload cablenut install it then the addon look for the folder it created on desktop apply chnages and reboot

Alright, I turned the modem of like you said, turned it back on, rebooted after I did the Addon for 1500/128 on cablenut, and took 3 tests with these results.

just to verify a couple things are using zone alarm and or behind a router/firewall?
Try this it's extreme but i have a hutch this might work goto my computer control panel network options remove everything in there reboot
http://dslnuts.com/pppoe/mtustuck.htm install this follow the instructions carefully
you might have to renitall tcpip and also client for microshaft networks to check goto network options under control panel
]
if u had to reinstall or didn't reinstall take the tcpip optimzer again see what we got
also one more thing take a couple of speed test one more time
if ur speeds are still slow, one more step take a traceroute at http://www.pcpitstop.com it under internet connections take the trace router if any color shows up other then green or yellow
or a lot of yellow call ur isp and start yelling.

Here's what I've found out. When I install the RASPPPOE, I have to create the Dial Up connection so I can get on the net. When this happends, my MTU is 1492 over IE. But when I want to use my Earthlink Browser, I have to go through a seperate connection, and that changes my MTU to 1480. I Traced the Line on the Earthlink connection and received a HUGE RED bar on my first ping. And when I ran the Tarce Test on the RASPPPOE IE connection I get all SOLID GREEN bars.
I ran these 3 speed test on the RASPPPOE IE connection:
Your raw speed was 860743.31 bits per second which is the same as:
Your raw speed was 730997.05 bits per second which is the same as:
Your raw speed was 598425.5 bits per second which is the same as:
So there are my results. I have no idea what to do.

Earthlink Browser what a dog.
I had Earthlink till they couldn’t afford IP address’s and dropped in a couple of black hole routers in there mix to try and hide the proxy that they put everyone on through Covad.
Get rid of the Earthlink add on software its not needed. RASPPPoE and Enternet 300 work just fine and you wont be in any violation with Earthlink. Its just stuff to put on your machine to gum stuff up and make it easier for them to track you.
Stick with IE or Mozzilla anything but the Earthlink browser. Its also been known to cause errors on a system and may have to be reinstalled just to uninstall it.
The work around for there stuff is keep a list of there info in Favorites in IE
Keep this phone number 1-888-847-4708 its more direct to tech. However your gonna find out that tech support has changed unless you just started with the company they laid off all there tech support for a out side service.
Everything you can do in the software can be done here http://start.earthlink.net/
1480 or 1492 isnt your issue you have Latency from the start. All the info and the program change was for the best, and more than likely by the time you read this they might have fixed the issue.
The easiest way to watch for that is to open a command line and do a tracert to a couple of places.
2K – XP
Start > Run > cmd > click ok
At the prompt type
C:\>tracert speedguide.net > then the enter key
If you want to make a copy of this to a Text file then type
C:\>tracert speedguide.net >C:\tracert1.txt
That will produce a new text file at C:\root where you can open it and copy and paste it to a email or here.

I have two DSL connections here if you needed to know
Now to deal with Earthlink and Latency. There really isnt allot you can do other than to let them know your slow and that your ping to the second hop is above 500ms and they will test back to you esp. if you have there software loaded.
Enternet 300 is all you need for them to look. It has a log and part of the program even tell you how good or bad your connection is in the advanced section.
Im Assuming your connection might or may have looked something like this.
tracert towar.org [195.94.207.34]
1 110 ms 141 ms 820 ms 10.132.64.1
2 270 ms 28 ms 410 ms 10.128.3.2
3 * * 14 ms 213.46.178.13
4 55 ms 28 ms 55 ms 213.46.160.205
5 60 ms 62 ms 86 ms 62.67.38.145
Generally on almost all DSL connections your on the web after the 2nd or 3rd hop after that its not Earthlinks problem. Earthlinks specs only call a serious Latency issue when its above 500ms remember that. OR time outs like shown on the third hop in the example.
When everything gets cleared up on your latency if it hasn’t already you'll be much better with RASPPPoE or the Enternet software by itself. A router would be even better but then that’s off topic

Sorry I haven't responded in a while guys. I had a few exams and my Chem final was a bit unexpected. Anyway, I got some adware and removed 163 Infected Folders/Files/Registry FIles/...etc.
I have never Defraged my HD's but I guess it's something I'll have to do soon. Tomorrow is best I guess. I also see constant 900kbits/s Speed Test now over RasPPPoE but still don't get more than 80 in a serious 100MB (For Example) DL. My trace results look good so I have no idea what this could be. I'm gonna cal Earthlink as soon as I have some time.
Another thing I am worrying about is weather or not my Memory could improve my speed. I have WAY to MANY programs running on the system Disk as is. So how can I close some of those and which ones can I close? I'll be upgrading my memory to 384 soon too. Thanks for everybody's help again.
