XP Cable settings help needed

Im having some real troubles with my connection for the last few days. Everything is fine for a few hours,then speeds have been dropping to near nothing and Uploads start a 8k and then decrease to under one before stalling completely.That is really hurting me since im a webdesigner.

Ive had comcast tech come out,and of course,when he got here everything was fine with my connection.....he gave me a new modem...few hours later the problem is back!I have them coming out again and thought id give new settings a try with cablnut.

im on comcast cable running xp pro.Is there anything i can try to maybe fix this problem?Nic card maybe is broken?any help would be great.

Here are my results from the analyzer,any new settings i should try out?or is it something other than the settings?

VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THE FOLLOWING

1. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need.

2. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.

3. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it is ISP dependent unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL (the instructions are in my Help & Tips link). If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.

4. Clear your temporary internet files.

5. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 15 seconds.

6. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot, anything checked in red is spyware and safe to remove.

7. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in my Help & Tips link.


It's VERY important that you scan for spyware with SpyBot, also if you are using Zone Alarm get rid of it, that could be the problem. I would suggest using Sygate's firewall.
