soltek p3 mobo?

Post by chester »

sl-65kv2 is the mobo

i ve install xp pro on this system and the motherboard comes with 4in 1 drivers for the board but windows xp dont recognize them cause they are not digititaly sign and wont install them cause also xp dont know what hardware they are for....

now since i couldnt install the 4in 1 drivers i install xp sp1
and now this system on boot up i get this msg
"The system has recovered from a serious error" Message Upon Startup in Microsoft® Windows® XP mindump errror

does anyone think its because the 4in1 drivers are not installed ?

or should i reformat and install xp without the 4in1 drivers and leave the system like that ,something ive not tried yet due to ,the fact that it does take time to refomatt and install the OS,call me lazy,,

ive tried this link with no effect ,,the link also has a microsoft link for a patch ,,for this error,, but the patch wont install cause i have xp sp1 in the system ,patch declares sp1 to be newer ,so i cant install the patch,,windows update dont have any related fixes for this problem either
the link is http://support.gateway.com/support/tech ... 4320.shtml

thanks all,,,

If you can get into safe mode, try doing a system restore. it doesn't matter if the via drivers are signed or not, hit continue anyway. if you can't get into safe mode, reinstall windows, install the LATEST 4 in 1s (http://www.viaarena.com), and THEN install sp1
