my life is soooo confusing....

ok so Im hanging out right now with a friend of mine. Shes the coolest person in the world, fun to hang out with AND she is beautiful. We have a lot in common, and shes really funny so hangin out with her isnt hard.

ANYWAY, over this past year weve become better friends and closer than we have been in years (Ive known her since about 5th grade)

anyway, this month is one of those dances where the girl asks you....you know.

I was waiting for her to ask me, and though we are only friends and it probably wont happen.....Im still hoping she will ask me. Ive kinda fallen for her even though we are still just friends.

well, today I find out ANOTHER girl wants to go with me and shes a cool person and all and shes really sweet, but I really didnt want to go with her, because I was waiting for the other girl to ask and now Im starting to feel bad because of this

Im lost as to whether I should hold out for the first one or just go with the second and have a good time. SOOOOO CONFUSED

I dont know what to do

BTW I would have probably already asked her out by now.......except for the fact that shes really hung up on this other guy who she likes but he isnt asking her out or anything (really stupid guy). that and the fact that another close friend of hers wrote this poem about how hes in love with her and that really freaked her out...because it out was of no where.

I dont want to lose a friendship over something that I cant even define as love, but I do want to go to this dance with her

I would also say ask her!!!

but I also have gone through this before.... and still am going through this...

it's really really hard to find a person.. much less a girl... which u can talk to about things and have things in common.... I myself also fear that if things don't work out.. I'd lose soemone to really talk to...never really had a close person to chat with... then I'd be alone again...

I'd wait and see what you do then I'd follow you.... u know.. heh..

for me... I'll choose friendship because I'm a *****... but when I can't stand that feeling no more... I'm going for it.....

I was in the same situation, and I know it's hard. For some reason I was really worried as I was afraid that someone else might have asked her before I got the chance. But all I did was nothing really...my friends read me like a book and saw that I really wanted to go with this girl, so they asked for me, and here I am preparing for the ball in May!!!!!

I'm so happy now!!!

its where the girl asks the guy, so I cant very well ask THEM (defeats the purpose)

BUT god has saved me the trouble a bit....or fate set in...dont know....

anyway, you have to have like a 3.2 GPA to even get invited (the girls that is...the guy could be flunking everything)

anyway, the girl I WANTED to go with didnt have the GPA high enough on her report card and therefore cant go....and I asked her if she was going very slyly

so Im going with the sweet girl....but I think she thinks I want to go as more then friends....so I guess Im going to have to set that straight? oh well...Im still gonna have fun

as for the other girl theres always the prom....we can go as "friends" and use that excuse to go, and see how that is. Shes kinda hung up on a guy though she wants to date...so Im kind of on the friends ladder.

The problem arises because a woman never lets a guy know which ladder he is on. Obviously there is a huge difference, or gap between these two ladders. It is in this gap that kisses of death are delivered and intellectual *****s are made. All a man can do is "go for it" and make a move on a girl; ask her out, try to kiss her, write her a love note or whatever. If he's on the good ladder fine. If he is on the friends ladder this is a case of ladder jumping. The man is trying to jump the gap from the friends ladder to the real ladder. The girl has two choices at this point: she can let him on the ladder and all is well, or, more likely, she can kick him in the head, and off the ladder. If you look you'll see that below the ladder is the Abyss(what was it Nietzsche said about a man being on a rope stretched over an Abyss?....well it's worse than he thought; there is no rope.) So the man falls into the Abyss. The Abyss isn't really as bad as it sounds. Mostly it's a period of self-loathing, embarrassment, and of course utter awkwardness with the girl in question if they are talking at all.

Unfortunetly, John is correct.

You are in "Let's Just Be Friends" land and RARELY does a man ever get out of that and into a girls pants, metaphorically speaking, of course.

You best bet is to move on. If she ever did like you as more than friends, it's probably to late. Keep her around as a 'pivot', hot girls have hot friends, and you've already got her trust, so that's an in there.

I don't mind women asking, but they rarely ever do that. If you're really interested in a girl, don't wait for her to ask you... prolly won't happen, even if she'd say "yes" if you asked

I'm in a similar case as sean... but it's not been a year .. like he is..

rite now... I can't even seem to find her... much less talk to her.. haha

so just treasure yer freindship right now... u never know.. she might be gone tomorrow..
