Help on FPS

When I play counter-strike my fps averages 80fps. When all the people start spraying their weapons my fps goes down to 35fps. Do I need a soundcard so my fps doesn't go way down? I am running on motherboard software sound right now.

how many mb is your video card is it onboard video? or agp?
how fast is your processor? what os are you running?

Sounds like you are lacking in the video card department... tell us your system specs.

I had an HP way back when, I was lucky if I got 15FPS. Once I tried putting a Voodoo 3 (when voodoo was a good company) and the crappy HP wouldn't let me, HP only wants you to use their parts. My advice to you would pay somebody to custom build you a PC or learn to do it yourself. It really isn't that hard. I'm only 16 and i've build a couple PCs already.

dont worry about ur fps in cs the max u can get is 100fps, 40 and over is alright, i get 30 and it is still good. dont let old games get u down
