My screenies from UT2K3 (55 pics)

Post by Brent »

Frame Rates are shown, some places the fps dropped in the 20's... otherwise it was above 30, playble, but not the smoothest

System specs:

ABIT BD7-II RAID
P4 2.4B OC'd 150x18 = 2.7Ghz
512MB DDR at 150FSB Cas2.5
Radeon 9700 Pro oc'd to 350Mhz core latest 6178 drivers
WinXP
UT2K3 Full Version

ALL detail settings were set to ULTRAHIGH, everything was at it's highest quality setting, 2X AA and 16X Quality AF were enabled on the 9700 Pro.

I've never seen someone sooo excited about a game.

Kinda bummed there weren't more outdoor levels.

Waiting for something totally new and exciting.....UT2K3 is just a hold over, since nothing new has been out for a long time. Nothing ///really/// new....just the usual improvements in graphics really. Look at the levels...many are lazily modded...Face3, December...comon guys, get original. The bits I saw early this summer had me somewhat psyched...but since this weekend....well, I'm not pulling overnighters to complete the game as soon as I can.

Q3 getting long in the tooth...waiting for Doom3.

Duke Nukem Forever...was really waiting for that....but...
...vaporware?

Halo for the PC...soo many delays...and more delays....not by the months...but by the years.

2K3 will have to do for a couple of months.

Unreal 2 and Doom 3 are the next biggest games

and single player too so they are real games and not just arena style deathmatches...

can't wait for both of em

Great screens brent! about your FPS, are you running at real highest on everything and getting those frames? just curious because I know you have a great system for it.

I agree with ya YeOlde, I was surprised most of the maps are rehashes of old ones with new architecture.

Awesome gameplay on them still though. Maul is a fun CTF map, simple non-stop action.

But you have to give them credit for a couple of the original ones, like Tokara Forest. that map is just incredible.

Doom3 too...should be quite "totally new".

in gameplay it hovers around 40fps avg...

depends on the map and location though, sometimes drops to 20fps sometimes goes up to 60fps, heh

now keep in mind i have very high quality settings, 12x10 32bit, UltraHigh everything, 2X AA 16X Quality AF, Trilinear, Triplebuffer, Lod = 0 and MinFPS is set to 0 so that's why it will dip down so low... i could set the min fps to like 35 and then it would be more smooth... but for these shots i wanted the absolute best IQ regardless of FPS...

i don't know why in Face the fps dropped so low though... i gotta play around with it more

Those links Brent threw up.....you'll drop your jaw. Hit the movies...the lighting effects really stood out in my mind. Just simply jaw dropping stuff. Everything really "moved forward" with the engine ....not just a subtle remake with slightly flashier graphics...but a major leap forward.

Nice screenies Brent! Awesome thread.
However, I noticed that there was nobody else around.

Were you playing with yourself again?
Simply run adaware, spybot, ZoneAlarm, HijackThis, AVG, update windows daily, have a router, don't open e-mail, turn off action scripting, don't use P2P networks, don't violate EULAs, and wear a condom to get Windows secured.

People say Linux is alot of work!
