trouble connecting 2 pcs

Post by pinoypc »

I have 2 pcs both running win98. i have a nic in each one and purchased a CAT5e crossover cable. problem is that in comp1, i can access all of comp2's files. but comp2 does not show comp1 in network neighborhood. what is wrong with comp2? I'm just trying to connect 2 comps together so i can play 1vs1 gaming. please help.

both must have the MS NETBEUI protocols installed and also File and Print sharing for windows installed. You must also share the folders that you wish to access. Are all these options set?

double-check that they're in same workgroup, that file & print sharing is checked in both and that everything is shared properly in both computers ;)
